Kathy Griffin just does not want to leave Bristol Palin alone to save her life. Only a matter of months after getting booed for making fun of the onetime “Dancing with the Stars” contestant’s weight during a comedy special for the American military, the comedienne is back on the offensive again in a Bravo stand-up special airing next Thursday.

This time, it looks as though Grififn is going after the corrective jaw surgery Bristol recently underwent — something that the 20-year old admits has ended up making her happier with her appearance:

“It looks like she took a picture of Jay Leno, went to the dentist and said, ‘Can I have this?’”

Nauru signs UN refugee convention


NAURU has ratified the United Nations Refugee Convention, yesterday releasing a photograph of its president Marcus Stephen signing the document to prove the point.

This boosts Opposition leader Tony Abbott’s attack on the federal government over its Malaysia refugee swap, because Malaysia is not a signatory to the Refugee Convention.

Signatories commit to key human rights principles, including not returning refugees to countries from which they have fled.

Updated, 1:05 p.m.: Authorities are searching the Franconia area home of a man being held in connection with an earlier scare involving a suspicious abandoned vehicle that closed roads around the Pentagon, an FBI official said.

Law enforcement sources confirmed that the man detained in the incident is Yonathan Melaku, 22, of Alexandria. A man with the same name was arrested by police after more than 25 cars in Leesburg were damaged in the early morning hours of May 26.

Melaku’s home is in the Autumn Chase development near the intersection of Beulah and Schurtz Streets in Fairfax County.

A North Carolina grand jury has formally indicted former U.S. Senator and presidential candidate John Edwards on criminal campaign finance violations.

The charges stem from the Rielle Hunter sex and love child scandal that ended his political career when the National Enquirer exposed him in 2007-08.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid raised eyebrows at a New York City fundraiser hosted by Mayor Michael Bloomberg Monday morning when he referred to Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand as the “hottest member,” according to CNN.

Gillibrand, who was seated only a few feet away from Reid at Bloomberg’s New York townhouse, flushed with embarrassment at the comment, CNN reports.

According to a Politico source, Reid delivered remarks praising New York’s senior senator, Chuck Schumer, before turning to Gillibrand and adding that, “many senators are known for many things,” and that “we in the Senate refer to Sen. Gillibrand as the hottest member.”
