Raven Symone has been making all kinds of headlines because of her new figure. This month, Vibe magazine featured the former Disney star in their “Sexy Issue” and she’s a certified bombshell, showing off her svelte figure in a curve hugging LBD and red heels.
But for all the hoopla over her newfound skinny-minny status, the actress maintains she feels just as good “after” as she did “before.”
“I find it funny that people now come up to me and say, ‘Wow, you are absolutely gorgeous’. I’m like, ‘I was beautiful before I lost weight’. Egotistically speaking, I thought I was amazing.’”
The “That’s So Raven” star, who is popularly called Raven, first showed off a new, more willowy figure in January. Last month, she confided in Wendy Williams, the secret to her new look. “I stopped stressing. You have to realize at 15, there was a whole entire show I had on my shoulders. It was a very big cast and crew and if you’re sick for a day, people lose money and that’s a problem,” she said at the time. “[It wasn't] just over eating because I’ve actually been eating the same. I keep a little bit more smaller portions because I learned that your body has to get rid of that stress some way. Some people break-out, some people lose their hair, some lose weight, some people gain weight, my body just reacted a certain kind of way”.
Apparently the producers at ABC Family agreed with that sentiment, because now she’s too skinny for her new role on debut show State of Georgia, which premieres June 23. “Ironically, my character is supposed to be the size I was before,” she said. “So I have to wear thicker body pads on the show.”
The show features Raven playing a character who moves to New York from Georgia in hopes of becoming an actress.
